DOLE raises substantial CAPITAL requirements for contractors from 3M to 5M

Substantial capital or investment among legitimate contractors under Articles 106 to 109 of the Labor Code now means 5,000,000 pesos. Previously, Department Order (DO) 18-A required only 3,000,000 pesos but Labor Secretary Bello issued DO 174 this March 2017 raising the requirement to 5,000,000. Aside from this, the registration fee of 25,000 pesos required under the old DO is now 100,000 pesos.
