Rape of 13yo to 19yo girls justifies 50K moral damages

The Court agrees with the sentence imposed but finds the award of P500,000.00 by way of damages to be far in excess of that currently set under prevailing jurisprudence. In People vs. Joya, the Court has reiterated the rule of adjudging against the convicted accused moral damages of P50,000.00 in (the) rape of young girls, with ages ranging from thirteen to nineteen years.
