TRAIN law receives backlash online

Blogs and news companies have issued their own infographics and criticisms of the effect of the new Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law. While the Duterte administration does not deny the negative effect of this new law on consumers, it still maintains that the benefits outweigh the harms. Rappler has reported: "Andanar admits new tax reform law will lead to more expensive goods. 'So, tataas 'yung bilihin. [Pero] hindi ba nila naisip na dahil dito...ay tataas din po ang koleksiyon ng ating bayan?' says Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar."
