Appropriability as an Attribute of Property

Appropriablity is the capacity to be possessed or owned by men. This must be the most important requisite of property because Article 414 incorporates this in its definition of property. “All things which are or may be the object of appropriation are considered either: (1) Immovable or real property; or (2) Movable or personal property.”
The reason why appropriability is an element of the legal concept of property is that the law can only cover so much of reality. There are things which cannot be appropriated in their entirety, only to a limited extent. There are things which are legally or physically impossible to appropriate.
