Blogger says "NO REGRETS" in sharing video causing conflict between Kuwait, Philippines
THINKING PINOY posted on Facebook: [START OF QUOTE] The Department of Foreign Affairs Republic of the Philippines has released the controversial rescue video to the media even before I uploaded it on Thinking Pinoy. For example, the Philippine Star published the video six minutes before I did.
So no, I did not "leak" the video. I simply shared what's already freely available online.
Do I regret sharing the video? Not even, because I think that people have the right to information that affects their lives. With most Filipinos having OFW family members, I believe it's just right for them to learn about the real plight of OFWs.
Should the video be released in the first place? That rests upon the discretion of DFA officials who own the video. As to whether they exercised sound discretion is an issue that best addressed within the DFA, of which I am not a part of. [END OF QUOTE]
Anti-Duterte blogger, SILENT NO MORE, however, shares its view on the matter, thus: [START OF QUOTE] Bakit sa kabila ng malaking problemang nilikha ng pag-upload "nila" ng video ng pag-rescue sa mga Pinay OFW na kasambahay sa Kuwait, na kinagalit ng gobyerno ng Kuwait at naging dahilan upang lalong maging magulo ang sitwasyon at kalagayan ng mga kapwa OFW sa Kuwait, wala man lang ni isang Kongresista o Senador na nag-initiate ng isang Hearing upang ipatawag sila RJ Nieto ng Thinking Pinoy, Mocha Uson, OUMWA Official Raul Dado, Consul General at Vice Congen ng Philippine Embassy - Kuwait, mga member ng Augmentation Team ng Owwa at DFA atbp upang malaman SINO ang nag-utos sa kanilang kumuha ng video at ikalat ito sa Social Media?
