DU30 admin to promote Chinese culture, history thru gov't TV
Just as Filipinos thought the fight against China was only about islands, the Duterte administration via its People’s Television Network (PTV) has recently announced that Chinese culture and history will also be promoted through government television.
Although Filipinos do not mind watching Korean drama and Japanese anime, a STATE-SPONSORED promotion of another country's culture -- which, by the way, has been bullying the Philippines by occupying its islands, by stealing its fishermen's catch and by claiming ownership over certain economic zones which properly belong to this country -- seems to be a bad decision.
Below is INQUIRER.NET's report on this.
NEWS: The Philippines’ flagship government television network will soon be airing shows that will promote Chinese history and culture.
People’s Television Network (PTV), operated by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), will soon be airing Chinese language television series, documentaries, cartoons and movies that will be dubbed in Tagalog.
The new foreign programming was introduced on Wednesday during the inauguration of “China TV Theatre” at the New World Hotel in Makati City.
