Mocha resigns after Ombudsman starts sign language, pepedederalismo investigation

Former Communications Asst. Sec. Margaux "Mocha" Uson filed her resignation letter on the same day the Ombudsman directed her to explain her involvement in videos appearing to mock sign language and a "lewd federalism jingle," official records showed.

Uson filed her resignation letter on September 28, citing the stalling of the budget of the Presidential Communications Operations Office at the House of Representatives as the reason.

"Recent events have put me in a position where I am being held responsible for Congress withholding the 2019 PCOO budget," her resignation letter addressed to President Rodrigo Duterte read.

Mocha Uson officially served as a member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) from January 2017 through her appointment as Assistant Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) in May by Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte as a reward for her support in his presidential election campaign.

Known for her risqué performances, blogging about sex, and posting revealing photographs, she has achieved notoriety in the Philippines for spreading misinformation via her eponymous blog, prompting her critics to dub her as the "Queen of Fake News" and question her administrative competence.
