What to do when bar questions have vague facts

When ANSWERING QUESTIONS WITH VAGUE FACTS (or which require qualification) during the bar examination or during law school examinations, remember the following tips by Atty. Tatad, Jr. (Rephrased to fit the flow of discussion.)

In case the facts are complete in a question, do not attempt to add facts or assume anything. Stick to the facts and answer with good language, relevant law and lawyer-like logic.

[1] We must distinguish. If xxx is yyy, then... (or As far as the xxx is concerned, yyy should...)
[2] It depends. If xxx... (or As far as the xxx is concerned, yyy is...)
[3] The question requires a qualified answer. If xxx..., then yyy...
[4] I will qualify. If xxx, yyy...
[5] On the assumption that xxx is yyy, then zzz...
[6] My answer must be qualified. If xxx...
